BAE Systems, Inc. releases second annual impact report on diversity, equity, and inclusion
Today, BAE Systems, Inc. released Caring for our People, Culture, and Communities, the company’s second annual report highlighting the significant progress made in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
“Prioritizing an inclusive workplace isn’t just good for our people and communities, it’s essential to the health and sustainability of our business,” said Tom Arseneault, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. “In 2021, we made meaningful strides to increase representation, belonging, and opportunity across our company. We look forward to continuing to build on these efforts to achieve our long-term goals.”
Caring for our People, Culture, and Communities follows A Decade of Progress, the company’s first-ever report, which detailed its efforts over the past ten years toward increasing DEI in the workplace. It includes information about our current employee population, employee spotlights that illustrate the company’s goals in action, and an overview of company-wide DEI strategy, goals, and aspirations.
Key accomplishments in 2021 include:
Increasing gender and racial diversity in senior leadership roles.
Growing employee resource group membership by 11%.
Embedding accountability for DEI within all people leaders’ performance and development objectives.
Launching a new sponsorship program for people of color.
“I’m proud of the collective actions our employees and senior leaders have taken to progress diversity, equity, and inclusion across our workforce, our culture, and the communities we serve,” said Dana Rixter, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer for BAE Systems, Inc. “This report reflects the caring, holistic approach that’s guiding our steadfast commitment to be a company where every employee is represented, supported, and valued.”
The report also shares information about BAE Systems’ development and educational opportunities and tools, community investment initiatives, and employee resource groups. The company will publish this report on a regular basis, to continue benchmarking the progress it has made towards its DEI goals.
